Description |
| Conservative speak radio's fastest-growing superstar is in addition a New York Times bestselling phenomenon: the author of the groundbreaking critique of the Supreme Court, Men in Black, and the deeply personal dog lover's memoir Rescuing Sprite, Mark R. Levin now brings the book this characterizes together his devotion to his extra than 5 million listeners and his love of our country and the legacy of our Founding Fathers: Freedom and Tyranny is Mark R. Levin's clarion call to conservative America, a new manifesto for the conservative movement for the 21st century. In the face of the modern liberal assault on Constitution-based values, an attack this has steadily snowballed since President Roosevelt's New Deal of the 1930s and resulted in a federal government this is a massive, unaccountable conglomerate, the time for re-enforcing the intellectual and practical case for conservatism is now. Conservative beliefs in unique freedoms do in the end stand for freedom for all Americans, while liberal dictates lead to the breakdown of civilized society -- in short, tyranny. Looking back to look to the future, Levin writes "conservatism is the antidote to tyranny precisely for the reason that its principles are our founding principles." And in a series of great essays, Levin lays out how conservatives can counter the liberal corrosion this has filtered into each timely issue affecting our daily lives, from the economy to health care, global warming, immigration, and extra -- and illustrates how modify, as seen throughout the conservative lens, is always prudent, and always an enhancement to unique liberty. As provocative, well-reasoned, robust, and informed as his on-air commentary, Levin's narrative will galvanize readers to initiate a new era in conservative thinking and action. Freedom and Tyranny offers a philosophical, historical, and practical framework for revitalizing the conservative vision and ensuring the preservation of American society. |

Prophetic 2010-09-03 |
| By Boris Zalevskiy (Philadelphia) |
| Having witnessed Soviet-style communism first hand, I can say that this is where we are headed in this country if we do not turn back. Liberty and Tyranny is a must read to help understand the dangerous slope we are on. |
Eye Opening to the Truth 2010-09-03 |
| By Art Johnsons (Chicago, IL) |
| Liberty and Tyranny is eye-opening in revealing the socialist-communist takeover that is enveloping Washington and New York. A must read for every freedom loving American! |
An Absolute Must Read! 2010-09-02 |
| By R. Tomlin |
| This book does an excellent job of explaining exactly what Conservatism is (and isn't) all about. There are many (some astonishing) examples of the "statist" agenda gone bad. There is no "fluff" in this book at all. Every page contains useful and insightful information and ideas. This book should be read by people on both sides of the political isle, since there seems to be so many misconceptions regarding what Conservatives stand for. Well done, Mr. Levin! |
Quick and to the Point 2010-09-01 |
| By J. Carmody (Tucson, AZ USA) |
This book is a very quick read that lays out the bases of argument supporting the conservative side of today's political argument. He shows what the underlying philisophical differences are in many of the areas, and he points out that the real debate is about how much control do you want over your life, and how much do you want to concede to the government. Conservatives believe that you want more control, and when in doubt, we should solve problems at the lowest level possible. Mark shows that this long-held Western belief is part and parcel of liberty and is one of the basic tenets of the founding of the United States of America.
And it's SHORT - if you're a quick reader, this will not take you long at all. With interruptions, it only lasted two evenings. |
A must read 2010-08-27 |

| A must read for conservative thinking Americans. Actually, a must read for all Americans. I have given away several copies to people now that it is out in paperback. No one gets my hardcover. |
